Got a problem or opportunity that you need more assistance with over a longer period of time? Have you reached out to any of our technical assistance providers with a phone call or two, but want more hand-holding and support? We are bringing back an old program with a new focus and funding, called the Peer 2 Peer Consulting Program. Think of it like your own personal business consultant or coach, but without all of the cost. However, you will need to put effort into it and make the best use of the consultant’s time. These are experts in their field and their time is incredibly valuable. Please honor that relationship.
The Niche Meat Processor Assistance Network, with funding from the Northwest & Rocky Mountain Regional Food Business Center and the USDA Meat & Poultry Processing Technical Assistance program, is offering the P2P program to provide niche meat producers, processors, and meat brands access to longer term coaching and consulting to assist you in working through a difficult challenge or taking advantage of a new opportunity. Up to 10 hours of free coaching/consulting will be provided to those who are selected for this program. This is an application-based program and not all requests will be fulfilled.
Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis and will receive priority if the following eligibility preferences are met:
- In business for a minimum of two years. If a start-up, must have experience in the industry and a serious commitment to launching the business (i.e. you have already written a feasibility study and/or business plan, you have capital to invest, you are actively seeking additional capital from banks, USDA or elsewhere).
- Focus on serving local and regional meat producers and markets.
- Special preference given to applications from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado, as part of the Northwest & Rocky Mountain Regional Food Business Center territory. That said, applications from other states will be considered if funds allow.
- Special preference given to applications from BIPOC individuals, tribal members, women, veterans, disabled individuals, persistent poverty regions, or other socially-disadvantaged groups.
Please fill out the following application in its entirety to be considered. If you are accepted, you will be paired with one of our consultants/coaches listed on this page at no cost to you. A requirement of the P2P program is that you agree to fill out an evaluation form at the end of your experience.
